The Careers Centre at Murdoch University has a lot to offer employers. We have a commitment to preparing our graduates for the workforce and to providing an efficient and quality service to employers.

Access to Students

CareerConnect is a web-based administration system that provides an electronic communication hub between students, alumni, employers and the University Alumni & Careers Centre (ACE) staff. To use the system you must first be registered.

You can register for CareerConnect at http://ace.murdoch.edu.au/careerhub

Access to Alumni

One service the Careers Centre can offer that you may not have considered before, is access to Alumni. Murdoch University keeps in touch with our students following graduation and the Careers Centre continues to offer advice on career planning and the employment application process. This means that you can not only access current students and intending graduates for your graduate intake, but can ALSO access experienced graduates who have expressed an interest in job seeking and career advancement. Please call us and discuss your requirements. All Murdoch Alumni also have access to CareerConnect.

What does CareerConnect Provide?

When you are registered as an employer on CareerConnect you will be able to:

• maintain your contact details and set your company into appropriate employment categories
• add a list of contact people within your company, and specify what 'Service' (eg: Graduate Employment, Vacation Employment) they should be the primary contact for.
• add vacancies directly to the CareerConnect system for students to search
• edit and close the vacancies you have listed
• view a history of all the previous vacancies you have listed on CareerConnect
• add events you are running to CareerConnect for students, staff and Alumni to search (employment related only).

All items you add to CareerConnect will be subject to approval by the ACE Centre.

Your Company Profile

The first place most students come when starting to research the job market is the Careers Centre on all of Murdoch’s campuses. We urge you to send us material such as Annual Reports, posters and any other relevant material. We can arrange for posters to be distributed to relevant areas of campus in addition to putting them up in the Careers Centre. When you Register on CareerConnect students, staff and Alumni will have a direct link to up-to-date information on your organisation.

Mail Out Service

Email
A direct mail-out service, either by post or email to specific students is a cost effective way of reaching quality candidates for any employment opportunities you may be offering.

Direct mail / email

• Fill in the On-line Request Form
• You will receive a copy of your submitted form by email.
• Murdoch ACE Centre will order the search report according to your requirements and then notify you of the number of students and final costs involved. All search reports attract a fee of $55.00 + GST even if you decide not to proceed with the mail-out.
• You supply the correct number of items to be mailed, sealed in postage paid envelopes – to be received at Murdoch ACE Centre at least one week before the scheduled mail-out date OR in the case of email out you supply the text and any attachments by email.
• An invoice will be forwarded to you from the University on completion of the mail-out.

“The Murdoch Careers and Alumni Centre has organised this mail-out and has not released your name and address to our organisation. Our organisation does not collect information obtained from the receipt of returned mail”

For larger envelopes we charge the standard extra postage plus handling. Please speak to Jo-Ann on 08 9360 2596 to discuss charges for larger sized envelopes.

Emails can be sent as plain text or PDF attachments. Please ensure any attachments are of a reasonable size preferably smaller than 250kb.

Email Costs: $55.00 non refundable search fee plus $0.50 per email (plus GST).

Professional Development

If you are seeking information on study opportunities for your staff in either the undergraduate or postgraduate areas, then please don't hesitate to contact the staff at the Careers Centre who will be glad to gather the information you need.

Your company may have specific professional development needs with which Murdoch University can assist. Again we invite you to use the Careers Centre as your first point of contact and let us make some initial enquiries for you. On-Campus Presentations

If you would like to make a presentation to students on the Murdoch, Rockingham or Peel campus, the Careers Centre will organise all the details for you. We book a suitable venue, promote the event via CareerConnect and posters around campus and we'll even organise parking for you. We can either promote your presentation to all students or target specific disciplines.

As the teaching timetable gets tighter each year, and venues harder to find, we would appreciate as much notice as possible for the best results. Please use our on-line request form.
